Happy Independence Day

To the 4-5 regular readers, and the 6-7 transients that blow through on a whim, I have been remiss. I have failed you all and I am ever so sorrowful for not keeping regular postings. It's been a tough run the entire last year and a lot of life decisions are being made..... but please know that Mrs.Sunset and I are fine.

We did see a lot of white over the winter. We thought we were having out of body experiences at times, but it turns out this is what happens when your outside world feels like a walk-in freezer at Dairy Queen. We were resilient. We made it........ we endured. (It also helped that I bought a snow blower.)

Nevertheless, needless to say, it is important to note that July 4 is the mid-way point of summer and the year.....and...... we are headed for some rough times as nation. It cannot be anything but miserable ahead, because the direction we are presently going is not the way that offers the best chance for success. We are being set up to fail and so far, we are fairly powerless to do much about it. The media isn't helping much, but that's to be expected of a fine Marxist trained profession that battles to be our main source of news.

Still......in spite of all the problems we have, despite the incompetence our leaders are demonstrating, even with the overt desire to not do a damned thing about any of it, we still have our loved ones and each other. We must cherish all moments, take all opportunities to help one another.

And even though the world is pretty much crapping in our front yards at this time, we still can be grateful we still have a chance at what those brave men envisioned 238 years ago. It's not over. But it will be if we don't get it right.

We must be earnest and believe that we can win the arguments soundly, we must have some faith we can win it enough times to get back on the right track, often enough to set into motion the kind of reform that will be necessary to straighten this mess out. We can do it. We can ensure opportunities for more generations, so they can experience a chance to live peaceably in their lives. but we have to stay the course and not give up.

We should not get overly discouraged, we should be persistent and strive to persevere through the dark moments. How can we know good times, except we suffer some tough ones to draw a stark contrast? How do we know good unless we know bad?

So, to my handful of regulars (even the NSA guy) I wish for you all to have a Happy Independence Day. Be safe. If you drink, don't drive and if you drive, don't drink.  Most importantly, try to take a small amount of time during these next three days to reflect on why we pause at this time and why we honor a declaration/statement so bold.

The very writing of such a document was enough to endanger the lives of those who signed it, so much so that they had to watch over their shoulders after it was announced.. But they still did it. They owned it. They lived it. They backed it up.

Along those lines, you might want to listen to the Paul Harvey selection that I posted for Independence Day 2014.

    3. If you want to look me up, let me know your e-mail address. I will send you my name and you can find me, if you want. I have a group going and do some short rants in it. Did you know GM Roper? I was friends with him until he passed away last year. We became good friends, I miss our banter.

Also AF Ticker...I met him at home one time last year and had dinner with him and his lovely wife. He's a nice guy, we had a great visit.

    4. My email addy is toward the top of the right sidebar at my blog. If you email me, please use this title: From LA Sunset.

Yes, I did know GM Roper. He and I chatted at least once by phone a few years after Mr. AOW's stroke. Mustang put us in touch.

    5. I got my already programmed and blanked ATM card to withdraw the maximum of $1,000 daily for a maximum of 20 days. I am so happy about this because i got mine last week and I have used it to get $20,000. Mike Fisher Hackers is giving out the card just to help the poor and needy though it is illegal but it is something nice and he is not like other scam pretending to have the blank ATM cards. And no one gets caught when using the card. get yours from Mike Fisher Hackers today! *email cyberhackingcompany@gmail.com

    1. Thanks Z. I am trying to recruit some friends of mine who are much like me in ideology, with some differences (as is always expected). Haven't had much luck lately.

I pop over to your blog now and then. I like the new look in your new blog.

    2. as far as visitors, just get out and comment more and you'll get tons of folks! As far as folks to help you write posts, ...not sure.

Thanks for liking my new blog...it's clean and a fresh new start, I think!
And I'm enjoying not having the nasty liberal comments more than I thought I would.

  3. Cheer up, you have more audience than some of us! Just having the freedom to express thoughts without being rounded up and sent to reeducation camp is a fine birthday present for all of us. If, as your last post says, we can keep it.

    1. It is what it is, AC. I fully expected it when I had to slow down. I am trying to get some of my friends on Facebook to help write, but they are in the same boat as me. Work, life, work, life, life, work, work, etc.

I noticed you have cut back a little over time, but certainly have done a good job keeping the fire lit. You are right....It is great having a platform to express our views. How long it lasts, is anyone's guess.
